SortWise Privacy Policy

SortWise is a local-first item organization app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how that information is used, and what choices you have.

Effective Date: July 31, 2026 App: SortWise Contact: mimisoftware@163.com

Quick Summary

SortWise is designed to work primarily on your device. Your item data, notes, reminders, diary entries, and attachments are stored locally unless you explicitly export or share them using system features.

1. Information Processed by the App

SortWise processes information that you choose to create, import, or manage inside the app, which may include:

Separately, when ads are available on your device, the Google AdMob SDK processes technical information that is not part of your item content, such as device and advertising identifiers, IP address, device and OS details, and ad interaction events. See Advertising and Third-Party SDKs.

SortWise does not require you to create an account for core app usage.

2. How Information Is Used

The information processed by SortWise is used only to provide app features, such as:

We do not use your item content, photos, diary entries, or reminders for advertising, profiling, or developer-operated analytics. The app does not include any analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Ad requests never include your item content — see Advertising and Third-Party SDKs for what the ad SDK does process.

Local Storage

SortWise is designed as a local-first app. Your content is primarily stored on your device. We do not automatically upload your item content to a developer-operated server as part of normal app use.

If you use export, restore, or system sharing features, your data may be copied to locations or services that you choose, such as the Files app, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, or other file providers available on your device. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

3. Permissions

Photos

SortWise may request access to your photo library so you can select images or save images you choose to export.

Camera

SortWise may request camera access so you can capture item photos or attachments directly in the app.

Notifications

SortWise may request notification permission so the app can send local reminder notifications that you set up.

Tracking (iOS)

On iOS, the app may ask for permission to track you across apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt). This is used only to decide whether the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be shared with Google AdMob for personalized ads. If you decline, the app keeps working exactly the same and you may still watch rewarded ads — they will simply be non-personalized.

You can deny these permissions, but related features may not function properly.

4. Purchases and Payments

The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase (not a subscription). Payment transactions are processed by Apple through your App Store account on iOS and macOS, and by Google through Google Play on Android.

5. Advertising and Third-Party SDKs

SortWise integrates the Google AdMob SDK. There are two ad formats, and no others — there are no banner, interstitial, or native ads:

What the ad SDK processes

When an ad is requested, Google receives technical data that does not include your item content, such as: advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device model and operating system, coarse location derived from IP, and ad interaction events (impressions, clicks, reward completion). Google acts as an independent controller for this data. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Consent (EEA, UK, and regulated US states)

Where required by law, the app uses Google’s certified consent management platform (User Messaging Platform) to ask for your consent before any ad is requested. If you do not grant consent, the advertising SDK is not initialized and no ad request is made.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app. That entry appears where such controls are applicable to you.

Personalized vs. non-personalized ads

Personalized ads require both your consent and, on iOS, App Tracking Transparency authorization. If either is declined, ads are limited to non-personalized ads and the app remains fully functional.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We never share your item content, photos, notes, diary entries, or reminders with advertisers or any third party.

Information may leave your device only in the following situations:

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your content is stored locally, you control most retention and deletion decisions directly.

Security

SortWise relies primarily on your device’s security features. The app may also offer optional privacy features, such as passcode protection or a privacy overlay, to help reduce accidental exposure of on-screen content.

No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free, but we work to limit data exposure by keeping app content local whenever possible.

8. Children's Privacy

SortWise is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated backend service. Because the app primarily stores data locally on the device, users remain responsible for what they choose to add to the app.

The app is not marked as child-directed for advertising purposes. If you believe a child has used the app and you want the advertising identifier reset, you can do so in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date shown on this page. Continued use of SortWise after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
